On the Road to Strode’s (Strode’s Mill historic area)
“On the Road to Strode’s“ (Strode’s Mill historic area) is an original pencil drawing
by Nicholas Santoleri. The drawing has been reproduced in an open edition signed print.
Strode’s Mill historic area located near West Chester, PA, on a route I have passed many times through the years. My drawing is of the Strode’s Barn, familiar for its sign advertising Country Fresh sausage and scrapple, as it stood for many years before it fell into disrepair. The Friends of Strode’s Mill are actively working to preserve and restore this historic area.
I originally sketched the barn as a study for my watercolor painting, “Country Fresh”, but decided to turn it into a much more detailed pencil drawing of the barn and surrounding landscape.
