Diamond Rock Schoolhouse Santoleri
“Diamond Rock Schoolhouse” by Santoleri 1987

The Diamond Rock Octagonal School House, located near Valley Forge Park, was built in 1818. It was the center of education for six grade levels in one octagonal room. The students sat facing the 8 windows with their backs to the heat radiating from a wood-burning stove in the center of the building. Restored in 1908 by former students, Diamond Rock School House remains an intriguing site to visit, as it still contains many of the school’s furnishings and supplies dating from its closure in 1865.

This limited edition print, signed and numbered by the artist, was reproduced from the original watercolor of the same name, using the highest quality craftsmanship and printing on fine neutral pH balanced paper.
