     In 1638, the original Kalmar Nyckel brought the first permanent European settlers to New Sweden, landing on the banks of the Christina River in what is now Wilmington, DE. Today, this magnificent replica of the original tall ship attracts scores of visitors to its decks, and leads us to reflect on the inspiring story of those first colonists.
